Day 01 - Delhi

1600 hours: Arrival at Delhi Safdarjung Railway station and meet with our representatives followed by check in and board Palace On Wheels maharaja train tour.

1745 hours: Departure for the adventure of a lifetime.

2000 hours: Dinner on board

Day 02 - Jaipur

0000 hours: Arrival in Jaipur.

0730 hours: Breakfast on board.

0830 hours: Sightseeing.

1300 hours: Lunch at the Rambagh Palace Hotel.

The capital city of Rajasthan and fondly called the "The Pink City", Jaipur is the hub of culture & tradition, preserving tastefully the splendor and aura of the bygone Royal age. Its monuments serve as living testimonies of the magnificence era, of which we shall be visiting the Palace of Winds Hawa Mahal with a profusion of windows and stone screens. The 18th century stone observatory Jantar Mantar which is remarkably accurate for its time and the unparalleled elegance and architecture of Amber Fort.

1700 hours: Departure for Jaisalmer.

2000 hours: Dinner on board.

Day 03 - Jaisalmer

0615 hours: Arrival in Jaisalmer.

0730 hours: Breakfast on board.

0830 hours: Sightseeing.

If Jaipur is the hub of historical monuments, then Jaisalmer is the land of ancient sandstone "Havelis" (mansions). These royal Havelis exhibits breathtaking frescos and wall paintings, of which we shall be visiting Patwon Ki Haveli and 300 year old Salim Singh Ki Haveli. The Jaisalmer Fort is our next destination, which towers above the town for the rooftop, retaining their age-old style and character and housing one fourth of the city's residents. The picturesque lake Gadsisar Sagar Tank enveloped by lovely shrines and archways is also worth visiting.

1300 hours: Lunch on board and rest.

1700 hours: Visit the sand dunes and experience the thrill of a camel safari.

1930 hours: Dinner while enjoying a cultural program.v

2300 hours: Departure for Jodhpur.

Day 04 - Jodhpur


0730 hours: Breakfast on board.

0800 hours: Arrival in Jodhpur.

0830 hours: Sightseeing.

1300 hours: Lunch at the Umaid Bhawan Palace.

Founded by Rao Jodhaji in 1459 AD and encircled by a ten kilometer long wall, Jodhpur is one of the most culturally and historically rich cities of Rajasthan. Eight gates serve as entrance to the city showcasing a fine blend of modern and traditional buildings. Visit the towering Mehrangarh Fort, housing several shops, buildings and monuments within including Moti Mahal and Phool Mahal where a large population still resides. Continue towards 19th century Jaswant Thada, a cenotaph whose thin marble allows sun rays to filter through. Our next destination is the in-house museum at Umaid Bhawan Palace, displaying a fine collection of artifacts and royal armory to enthrall you.

1530 hours: Departure for Sawai Madhopur.

2000 hours: Dinner on board.

Day 05 - Ranthambore Tiger Sanctuary

0400 hours: Arrival in Sawai Madhopur.

0630 hours: Breakfast on board.

0700 hours: Visit the Ranthambhore National Park.

One of the most well preserved and well protected reserves in the country, Ranthambore boast of an incredible variety of wild animals and bird species. A wildlife reserve since 1955, Ranthambore’s star attraction are its rather ‘friendly’ tigers that are used to human presence. Sprawling over 400 sq. km. the reserve is nestled amidst the billion year old Arravali and Vindhya hill range. Other wildlife attractions include Caracals, Sloth bears, Black bucks, Hare, Indian Wild Boar, Chinkara, Common Palm Civets or Toddy cat, crocodiles and over 270 species of birds.

1100 hours: Departure for Chittaurgarh.

1300 hours: Lunch on board.

1530 hours: Arrival in Chittaurgarh.

1600 hours: Sightseeing.

The legendary Chittaurgarh emanates courage and dignity, known as the abode of passionate men and women. The 7th century Chittaurgarh Fort, the crowning glory of the town followed by visit to Padmini's Palace also situated within the fort. The Vijay Stambh built as a symbol of Victory and Kirti Stambh, the Tower of Fame is our next two destinations before returning to the luxury train.

2000 hours: Dinner on board.

Day 06: Udaipur

0645 hours: Breakfast on board.

0730 hours: Sightseeing.

1230 hours: Lunch at the Lake Palace Hotel.

Explore Udaipur also known as the Venice of east, housing many famous palaces, forts and lake. Visit the Pichola Lake, the Fatehsagar Lake as well as the Lake Palace-the most artistic tourist site, and Jag Mandir – a beautiful island on Pichola Lake. Go shopping for handmade jewelry, ethnic Rajasthani goods, metal-wares, and decorative items in its busy markets.

2000 hours: Departure for Agra.

2000 hours: Dinner on board.

Day 07: Morning Agra (Taj Mahal)


Begin your morning with a visit to the famous monument of love- The Taj Mahal. Built by Mughal emperor Shahjahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, the majestic monument sprawls over the banks of charming river Yamuna. Spend the better part of the afternoon admiring the monument. Post lunch, visit the Agra Red fort – the red- sandstone fort of Agra which used to be the home to famous Mughal rulers like Babur, Akbar, and Shahjahan. Later drive back to Palace on Wheels for departure to Bharatpur with lunch on board.

Afternoon: Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary

Afternoon arrival at Bharatpur known as one of the best bird sanctuaries in Asia. A large variety of exotic birds flew-in to the reserve from faraway places like China, Afghanistan and Siberia. After a detailed bird watching tour, return to Palace on wheels for Delhi departure with dinner on board.

Day 08: Delhi

Welcome back to Delhi Cantonment Railway Station to step back from fantasy to reality. Meet with our representatives who shall assist & transfer you to the international airport for your return/onward journey.
